Ready for Work - what is it?
Ready for Work is an online learning programme for young people, comprising 12 short self-study courses on subjects of real importance to all prospective employers. It is aimed at improving employability and easing the transition into work.
Currently in full-time education?
The learning programme is FREE if you are currently in full-time education. Once you have successfully completed the programme, you may request a Ready for Work Certificate awarded by the British Institute for Learning & Development and a 48-page Ready for Work Handbook at a cost of £15 to cover administration, printing and postage. The Certificate will be useful when seeking employment - however, applying for it is entirely optional and there is no obligation to do so.
Currently in a job?
If you are a young person who is already in employment, including apprentices, and would like to enrol on Ready for Work, you should refer to your employer. There is a charge of £75 plus vat per employed student and £15 for an optional Certificate and Handbook for successful completers. Currently seeking employment?
If you a young person seeking a job, you may enrol on Ready for Work at a subsidised fee of £50. Upon successful completion you may request a Certificate and Handbook at a cost of £15. Applying for a Certificate is entirely optional - there is no obligation to do so.
